Privacy Policy — YT Ultrawide Fill

YT Ultrawide Fill is a browser extension that zooms letterboxed ultrawide (21:9) YouTube videos to fill an ultrawide display in fullscreen. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data.

The short version

The extension collects no data whatsoever. It has no servers, makes no network requests, and includes no analytics or tracking of any kind. Everything it does happens locally in your browser.

What data we collect

• None. No personal information, no browsing history, no video titles, no usage statistics, no identifiers.

How the extension works

• It runs only on youtube.com pages.
• To measure a video's aspect ratio, it draws frames to an in-memory canvas inside the page and inspects them for black bars. This happens entirely on your device; frame data is never stored or transmitted.
• Its only effect is to apply a visual zoom (a CSS transform) to the video and to add a toggle button to the player controls.

Data sharing

Because no data is collected, no data is ever shared, sold, or sent to any third party.

Permissions

The extension requests access only to youtube.com, which is required to add the toggle button and apply the zoom. It requests no other permissions.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "Last updated" date.
